SANY was involved in constructing the first nuclear power plant in Bangladesh

2020-08-28

In 2016, the ground preparation work of Rooppur nuclear power plant commenced in Rooppur, on the bank of the river Padma, 160 kilometers west of the capital, Dhaka. Undertaken by world-leading nuclear power EPC ASE, the project is a pressurized water reactor facility consisting of two units of VVER-1200 reactors with an output of 2.4GW. Bangladesh plans to produce 9% of its electricity from the plants, lowering the country’s dependence on fossil fuels by the middle of the next decade. It will take a few years for the plants to start operations, with the first unit scheduled in 2023 and the second in 2024.

16 SANY SYT380 tower cranes and 6 HBT12020C-5HP trailer pumps were involved in the construction of the plants. After receiving the tender from ASE,SANY R&D team had put all efforts to optimize the product design by analyzing each technical requirement. This guaranteed that the products delivered fully complied with ASE’s standard. According to ASE’s evaluation report,  SANY SYT380 tower crane exceeded the expectation with technical innovations and excellent service. In the meantime, the HBT12020C-5HP trailer  pump has proven its worth as a reliable choice, with its high wear-resistance, reliable spare-part supply and timely engineering service.

In October 2018, SANY began deploying these machines on the construction site. After all the large tower cranes were carefully installed and commissioned, the deployment of all equipment has been done by April 2019.

Whether it is for small or complex construction projects, SANY offers machines for a wide range of requirements. Apart from making machines and vehicles available, SANY’s considerate service also helps define what it means to be a world-class heavy equipment manufacturer.
